Stocking Stuffers: Chanel Coco Madamoiselle Soap

Looking for something a little iconic?  Chanel’s Coco Madamoiselle fragrance is a huge hit, and in bar form tucks nicely into any stocking to be used for the bath or in the dresser to fragrance linens and lingerie.  It is hard to imagine dressing up this $24 molded soap, but Chanel offers free gift wrapping at the Macy*s counter in Mayfair Mall with two color choices and lovely ribbon.  Perfection!

NOTD: New Year’s Gold

This is three different types of glitter and is stunning in real life!  Just enough bling but still on the subtle side.   The tip makes it best on longer nails like Pam’s, but it is pretty on most lengths.  What are you sporting for New Year’s eve?

Stocking Stuffers (for Him): sexual Sugar Daddy fragrance

Michel Germain has built an empire on his Sexual fragrance lines that first launched with Victoria’s Secret, and this year’s launch is no disappointment.  The new Sexual Sugar fragrance for women in the impossibly pretty pink and silver packaging is reminiscent of Love’s Babysoft – Adult Style.  It could be the aprodisiacs the perfume is pumped with that make it so appealing.  But I think the sleeper of this set is the scent for men, Sexual Sugar Daddy.  The packaging is similar in style but sticks to grey, silver, white and black tones.   And that name, oh the name.

The fragrance itself?  Totally unisex, which makes this so incredibly appealing.

Sexual Sugar Daddy Fragrance Type: Chypre Oriental
Top Notes: Crystallized grapefruit zest, Cinnamon bark, Fir balsam
Middle Notes: Caramelized praline, French lavender, Patchouli
Heart Notes: Leather, Sweet tobacco accord, Sandalwood

It could be the cinnamon notes that had me and my clients spritzing at every turn.  Or the carmalized prailines.  Or the crystalized grapefruit.  Whatever delicious twists were to blame, even my 6 year old asked me to wait while he went and got the bottle before his holiday concert performance (yes, I giggled).

Needing a little HIMspiration? Sexual Sugar Daddy is sold online – with great shipping and gift set deals right now – as well as Macy*s, Bloomingdales, and many other fine fragrance locations.  Don’t stop at fragrance, as there is a deodorant option that I imagine would be very nice.

If you are feeling especially flirtatious, get yourself a bottle of Sexual Sugar while you are at it.

Product provided by brand/brand rep for review consideration.

Stocking Stuffers: Ring Bling

Target has some amazing rockstar rings for work and for play.  Great detail, mirrors, and colors all just for $9.99 – but wait, there’s more!  They come prepackaged in little blue round boxes that can be hung from the stocking with care.  It isn’t Tiffany’s but it is fun.

A Manicure By Any Other Name

I strained to hear the conversation in the crowded salon.  My next client was discussing with another the possible choices for her manicure. The only thing is, I couldn’t recognize the name of this mix.  Now, I make a lot of custom nail colors , but one thing is that my clients have a tendency to give the manicure colors a name.   It’s the cutest thing!  Names like:

Snowglobe

Tinsel

Mother of Pearl (abalone)

You get the idea.  The problem was, I didn’t have ANY nail color mixes with the name that was being repeated, and I was pretty sure I was hearing them correctly.  It went a little something like this:

client1: I just don’t know.  I really like Bacon.

Client2: I do too!  It is really interesting.  Perfect for winter.

client1: Do you think it is too different? What about the red or this pink?  Oh, but I really like Bacon.

Client2: I like those, but Bacon is my favorite.

client1: Me too!  I want Bacon!

Client2: You should get Bacon.

client1: That’s it. I’m going to do it.  I’m getting Bacon.

When it came time for her to sit in my chair she slid right on in with my color wheel and said with a perfectly straight face:

“I’m going to get Bacon.”

Holy crappy penmanship!  The weird thing is, it does kind of look bacon-ish.

To the uninitiated, that is short for CND Shellac Red Baroness + Cappuccino.

Pro Tip: Get this look!:
If you Shellac or like to get Shellac, you can achieve this color with a layer of Red Baroness and 1 thin layer of Cappuccino. You can call it anything you like.
