Zoya Nail Polish – new meaning to 3 free

Zoya does it again with 3 free campaign

These are the final hours to take part in Zoya’ s celebration of 20,000 Facebook fans!  Get to know this brand that introduced 3 chemical free polishes and is offering 3 free nail polishes if you purchase tonight.  No strings attached, you just need to cover shipping (approx $7).  I picked up Laney which was used in the St. Pucchi bridal show, as well as Adina and one of the new purples.  DON’T forget their amazing nail polish remover in the flipper top!  Good stuff.  http://www.zoya.com/

She’s Got the Look: Katy Perry Wins People’s Choice Awards

Danilo created a beautiful classic body set on Katy, a style that “she always loves so much.” They decided on full waves to complement her strapless Betsey Johnson dress for a “sophisticated, cutie-pie” style for the evening.

Katy Perry wowed the audience, and clearly the people, winning two People’ Choice Awards (Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Online Sensation) and major style points in a dress by Betsey Johnson and hair styled by Pantene Celebrity Stylist Danilo.

Danilo shares the steps he used on Katy Perry with Solessence readers so you can duplicate at home:

  • Katy arrived on the scene with freshly washed, towel-dried hair so Danilo had a clean base for styling.
  • He first lightly misted her hair with the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Heat Protection & Shine Spray to wet and condition, then focused on prepping her roots for the voluminous style by spraying them with the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Root Lifter Spray Gel.
  •  Danilo then blew her hair out and, once dried, rubbed a small dollop of the Pantene Pro-V Restore Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm section-by-section before he applied heat from the curling iron.
  • He used a medium-sized curling iron to set each section and sprayed the Pantene Pro-V Fine Hair Professional Level Style Shaping Hairspray over the set before letting it cool for five minutes.
  • He then released her hair, brushed it gently, and “let her hair fall very full and wavy.”
  • He parted her hair to the side with lift in the front, and left her remaining curls big and loose for the final finish.

Zoya Nail Polish and Black Swan Make Beautiful Music Together

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Press Release)– Jan 05, 2011 – Cleveland, OH
Funny how life works out sometimes…

Growing up in the Soviet Union, a little girl named Zoya dreamed of being a ballerina and dancing to Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Now, many years later, after a life immersed in music as a classical pianist and becoming a star in world of cosmetics, dreams have come true.

Enter the recent theatrical release of Black Swan. Early on in the film as the lead dancer, Nina (portrayed by Natalie Portman), prepares in her dressing room for a gala where she will be revealed to the masses as the new Swan Queen, a solitary elegant bottle of  nail polish briefly takes over the screen. This is where the line between a little girls fantasy and reality blissfully blurs. The bottle shown is Zoya Nail Polish in a delicate shade of pink named Bela.

Zoya Reyzis (founder of Zoya Nail Polish) and the Swan Queen of Swan Lake together at last.

Zoya Nail Polish can be found worldwide at quality salons and spas or online…
http://www.zoya.com

Available in Bela and over 300 other long-wearing, beautiful colors, the healthy formula of Zoya Nail Polish is completely free of formaldehyde, toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and camphor.

See It First: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star

I was given the chance to sneak preview the premiere episode of “Your OWN Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” that airs this Friday, January 7th at 9/8c (thanks OWN/SheSpeaks!)

Contestants are vying for their own tv show on the OWN station so things get a little, um, competitive.  Instead of feeling dirty at the end of a reality show episode,  in true Oprah spirit it is meant to be uplifting.   Don’t get me wrong –  it isn’t all unicorns and butterflies.  The women throw each other under the bus as soon as opportunity arises.    Leigh, a boistrous SAHM of four who wants to talk penis vs. finger size and wears a tutu on stage is one of the more noticable figures:

Ayup, that’s the finger vs penis comparison

I think I know a story behind these Kohl’s bags

Of the 15,000 people that tried out, only ten make it and only one has a public following.  Elizabeth is a reporter in Los Angeles and risks souring her following and position if she comes across unfavorably:

Starting off right

The guys were pretty quiet this round, but because they were outnumbered by the women they were able to pick one of the females for their team.  They went with Alicia “If it doesn’t make dollars, it doesn’t makes sense”, a mortgage broker who impresses right off the bat:

Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star is a bit like  The Apprentice getting in touch with its feminine side.  The fun is how the personalities begin to unravel with each challenge. It is also the fantasy of Oprah’s journey and  allowing contestants to succeed and fail on their own in an ” Unsinkable Molly Brown” style that will leave  fans waiting to the end to see who reigns victorious.

Hosted by: Nancy O’Dell and Carson Kressley

Guest Mentors: Dr. Phil and probably every expert that has ever appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show

See it first: Friday, January 7th at 9/8c

Tom Ford: ss 2011

Finally, video of Tom Ford’s ss 2011 show. It’s a beautiful and edgy piece with super amped up Annie Hall outfits (think insanely sexy) and a bevy of celebrities strutting Ford’s stuff. Anything in particular you are coveting?

PS Is the girl at 1:13 wearing makeup?
