Golden Globes 2014: Julia Louis Dreyfus

Julia’s haltered Narcisco Rodriguez dress was key

Celebrity makeup artist Karen Kawahara created the look for Julia Louis Dreyfus at the 2014 Golden Globes using Votre Vu products. The bright orangey-red color dress inspired her to focus the look on a stronger eye with a lighter lip.

Get the Look:
“Votre Vu Attentive Crème du Jour was used to prep the skin while the Amour D’Ore Multi-Vitamin Oil was placed applied to her body before hair and nails to ensure that it had time to absorb into the skin. I also applied a little bit of the Luxee Yeux as well around the eye contour.

I applied the Love Me Deux Foundation in Cannes to the entire face and concealed the under eye with a mixture of the Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Light and Medium.

I also used the Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Light all over the lids and applied powder on top of it to ensure that the eyeshadow lasted all night. I like to apply eyeliner first to create the shape I want in the eye and then shadow on top of that. I used Le Joli Crayon in Charbon and pushed it in between the lashes, then started with a very thin line in the inner eye, gradually getting thicker towards the outside. I added a little wing on the corners to give the eyes a lift. To create a popping eye, I used Votre Vu’s Palette in Play in Copper. The lightest vanilla shadow was placed towards the inside of the eye and the lighter copper color was brushed over about ¾ of the outside lid.

I also, very lightly, lined the inside of the eye with a burgundy color. The darker copper color in the Palette in Play was also placed close to the bottom lashes underneath the eye. To finish off the eyes, I used Eiffel Power Mascara as well as some individual lashes.

Julia, in on the opening skit

Vu-On Rouge Color Accent in Bouquet Rose was used to give some color on the lip and cheeks. I applied all over the cheek using my finger. I wanted to create pale lip, so I used a lip brush to apply the color and went over with soft coral for a bit of sheen.

I mixed the Arch de Triumphe in Fair and Dark Brown to go over the brows since I didn’t want them to seem too dark.

Then I used the Beaute en Bronze Blush which was very sheer and then applied the Dior Blush in Amber on top for a bit more color.

Lastly, I set her makeup with Belle Poudre in Light.”

Golden Globes 2014 : Emma Watson

Golden Globes presenter Emma Watson twists it up

It was the first time for Emma Watson attending the Golden Globes, and showing up as a presenter must have been magical. The occasion called for a classic Hollywood look with a slight twist. Vidal Sassoon Pro Series stylist Shelley Brien knew just how to compliment Emma’s night and special Dior orange and navy dress/pant suit (also deemed reverse mullet dress) with suede shoes.

Get the Look:

To show off the dress’s low back, Shelley thought a chic chignon would be the perfect style to complement her modern look. Emma’s striking look was the biggest fashion statement on the red carpet!

Here’s how Shelley created Emma’s look:

1.First spray Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect & Shine Spray to damp hair. Take a medium sized boar bristle round brush and blow dry hair so that it’s straight and smooth.

2.Once hair is dry, create a side part and then spray Vidal Sassoon Pro Series ColorFinity Dry Shampoo in Rich Darks to the roots to create extra volume.

3.Backcomb the hair near the front of your face to create texture and then brush all the hair back until it’s smooth. Maintaining the side part, pull hair back into a low ponytail and then wrap hair loosely into a chignon. Wrap hair similar to a bun and then pin in place.

4.Pull a few pieces of hair in the front and tuck behind the ear to create a more modern, tousled look.

5.To finish, spray hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Flexible Hold Hairspray to leave it with a sleek, finished look.

Golden Globes 2014: Robyn Wright

Celebrity makeup artist Tricia Sawyer used Orlane products to create Robin Wright’s gorgeous look for the 2014 Golden Globes.

WINNER: Robyn Wright took home the 2014 Golden Globes winner for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama

The look was inspired by the dress that Robin is wearing which is a very 1970’s club, vintage dress. “It’s a beautiful champagne color like a golden nude, so we kept to the color scheme.”

To prep the skin, Tricia used Orlane’s Absolute Skin Recovery Anti-Fatigue Masque. Afterwards, she applied Anti-Fatigue Absolute Radiance Cream all over the face. “I love this cream because it helps to retain moisture for long periods of time and Robin has a long night ahead of her so it’s perfect!”

Next, Tricia applied Orlane’s Absolute Skin Recovery Smoothing Foundation in Shade 20 with the Antonym Foundation Brush and spot concealer. To set the foundation, she dusted Orlane’s Poudre Libre all over the face.

To highlight and attract light for photography, Tricia applied a shine stick to Robin’s cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and the center of her nose. Then, she used a Dior coral blush on the apples of her cheeks and the Orlane Bronzer under her cheekbones and along the jawline for more dimension.

For Robin’s eyes, Tricia applied Antonym’s Certified Natural Eyeliner in Noir along the inside of the eyes and on the outer rim. She smudged it out with a small eye shadow brush and then used a customized eye shadow palette for a nude look. After applying a strip of lashes, she used Orlane’s Volume Care Mascara on the lashes.

To give her lips a nice color, Tricia used Dior Addict’s Gloss in #343.

For her arms, Tricia used Orlane’s Refining Arm Cream to moisturize and then applied the Orlane Bronzer to give a bronzey look.

Orlane products are available at www.orlane.com.

In the wintertime, I am a major fan of the Absolute Skin Recovery Smoothing Foundation. Check it out.

Golden Globes 2014: Kate Mara

The striking Kata Mara gets her makeover with French cosmetics love from Orlane

Celebrity makeup artist Coleen Campbell-Olwell created Kate Mara’s look for the 2014 Golden Globes using Orlane products.

Get the Look:

“For Kate’s look tonight, she’s wearing a gorgeous silver/gray, structured gown.  We wanted her look to be a bit more intense and her skin to be luminous and glowing.

I started with the Orlane Super-Moisturizing Light Cream and massaged a liberal amount into her skin so it would be really hydrated.  Then, I applied the Absolute Skin Recovery Eye Contour around the eyes the keep the skin really smooth.  This product is really great for prepping the eyes for concealer and skin we were doing an intense eye, we wanted to area to be nice and smooth.

When applying her foundation, I mixed the Chanel foundation with 1-2 drops of Orlane’s Morning Recovery Concentrate and applied with a sponge.  The Morning Recovery Concentrate gives the foundation an instant radiance and adds more luminosity to the skin.

I then contoured the cheeks just a little bit with the Orlane Bronzer using a swirling motion with the brush so that there wasn’t a concentration of color.  We didn’t want a bronze look at all so we just added a bit of the bronzer for more depth.  To add a bit more color, we used a soft rose blush on the apples of her cheeks.

For her eyes, I first used Antonym’s Certified Natural Eye Pencil in Noir on the waterline and along the top of the lash line to add more intensity to the eye. That was blended out to create a smokey effect. I then added a navy and gray shadow along the top of the eye and a little bit underneath, close to the bottom lash line. To finish the eye, I used my favorite mascara Orlane’s Volume Care Mascara. This mascara is AMAZING and helps to give great depth and length.

Then I used the Dior Eye Shadow Styler to give her more arch in her brows. It also helped to give them a fuller look.

To highlight the corner of her eyes and above the cheekbone, I used the Highlight Care Brush.

As for her lips, I just added a nice balm to compliment to already beautiful lip color she has.”

Orlane products are available at www.orlane.com

Her look was made complete with a silver J Mendel dress, Smythson clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Charlotte Olympia shoes.  Stunning!

Golden Globes 2014: Cate Blanchett

Best actress nominee Cate Blanchett having a great hair day at the 2014 Golden Globes, courtesy Vidal Sassoon Pro Series

Cate Blanchett was a winner in her gorgeous Armani Prive black lace and tulle gown.  It was only befitting to give her crowning glory a timeless look.  Celebrity Hair Stylist Robert Vetica used Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Products for this sophisticated, underwrap hairstyle.

Get the Look:

Inspired by Grace Kelly’s classic hair look, Cate knew they wanted to create a glamorous look from head to toe. Cate’s classic and captivating hairstyle is truly timeless and complements her Armani Couture black lace dress with a low back. To finish the look, Robert tucked her hair on the left side to showcase the gorgeous Chopard earrings.

Here’s how Robert created Cate’s look:

1.First prep damp hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Boost & Lift Foaming Air Mousse, applying throughout the hair for lift and hold.

2.Create a low side part and then starting in the back, take a medium boar bristle round brush and blow dry hair down and away from the face, keeping hair flat. Apply a bit more mousse to the front of your hair to help shape your style while giving extra hold to your look.

3.Once hair is dry, spritz Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect & Shine Spray to protect hair before curling it. Using a ¾ inch curling iron, take hair in the back of your head, separate into 2 inch sections and curl.

4.Once the curled hair has cooled, backcomb to create texture and roll hair up into an “underwrap” style, pinning the look into place. Once all the hair has been rolled and pinned, pull a few pieces of hair from the “underwrap” to create a natural look with a little texture.

5.To finish, spray hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Flexible Hold Hairspray to lock your look in place.

Supermodel Gisele the new crowning glory for Pantene

For more than a decade, women around the globe have been using the phrase “I want Gisele hair” to describe their ultimate hair inspiration. Beginning in January 2014, Pantene, the world’s #1 hair care brand*, and one of the world’s most recognized supermodels, Gisele Bündchen, are coming together to create a match made in hair heaven. Bündchen will appear in all elements of the brand’s holistic marketing campaign, including TV and print advertising, in-store displays, iMedia and public relations outreach. The international supermodel has been representing Pantene in Brazil since 2007.

“Gisele is truly a woman who has it all – not only does she have one of the most iconic heads of hair in the beauty world but she is also a true role model with a huge heart,” says Kevin Crociata, Marketing Director of North American Hair Care at Procter & Gamble. “We want to celebrate Gisele not only for her beauty, but also her genuine passion to empower women to be their best selves. Her tremendous career accomplishments, her success as a mother of two wonderful children, and her ongoing philanthropic work are an inspiration for women to be beautiful both inside and out. We are proud to now have her as part of our North American Pantene family.”

“I feel my hair has been through it all– from being styled more than ten times in one day to enjoying the sun and surf with my children – and Pantene has helped to keep it healthy with every wash, no matter what the day may bring,” says Bündchen. “I love that Pantene not only stands for healthy, strong hair, but also encourages women to give back specifically through a program like Pantene Beautiful Lengths.”

Gisele Bündchen will be the face of the new Pantene campaign debuting in January 2014, which will be the launch of Pantene‘s NEW first-ever, clinically-tested, anti-oxidant damage-blocking technology (EDDS). This damage blocking technology targets, captures and helps reduce copper build-up on hair to help prevent oxidative damage, which over time leads to a new dimension of strong, healthy hair. This technology will be across most Pantene shampoo formulas and works to preserve the long-term health of hair.

Pantene will also launch the NEW Damage Detox Collection, designed for women in need of an elevated level of damage repair looking to essentially ‘reset’ their hair, is the first-to-mass detoxifying shampoo, conditioner, and treatment system that cleanses impurities, protects from oxidative damage and provides shine.
