Academy Awards 2014: Jared Leto

Along with inspiring her Oscar winning son with advice to “dream and then…do the work”, Constance Leto passed on some fabulous follicular finesse with that head of hair. Chase Kusero, who styled Jared last night with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series, shares with Solessence readers how to get the look at home or salon, through the power of product.

The Look: Natural, Air Dried Waves

Chase and Jared were originally planning on creating a wet side-parted low bun, but then at the last minute, they decided to embrace Jared’s iconic wavy hair and have him wear his hair down. This undeniably cool, rocker hairstyle gives him the classic but edgy look that pairs perfectly with his white Saint Laurent jacket. Jared’s hair look was a two-day process – Chase used the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Collection the night before and then freshened up Jared’s hairstyle the next day with the ColorFinity Dry Shampoo.

Here’s how Chase created Jared’s look:

1. First prep wet hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Primer Spray, applying it throughout the hair to enhance your natural wave.

2. Then apply Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Waves Pomade to the length of the hair, providing a flexible hold and soft, glossy curl definition. Create the desired part and let hair air-dry.

Academy Awards 2014: Kelly Ripa

“When I first laid eyes on Kelly’s Roland Mouret dress and Fred Leighton Jewels, I knew she needed a look that was soft with a lot of bounce.”

 

 

 

The look was easily created by using ONLY three Dove Hair products:

Dove shares with Solessence readers how to GET THE LOOK:

 

1. After the hair is washed, warm four pumps of the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Nourishing Treatment and apply to the hair to make it supple and reflective, which is super important for the red carpet.

 

2. Spray at the root the Dove Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray for added lift and blowdry with a small round brush to add lots of soft voluminous movement. 

 

3. Take a 1” curling iron and in small sections curl the hair away from the face. Once the it is complete, gently brush out the curls to create very loose soft waves. Then set the hair in a deep side part.

Grammys 2014: Queen Latifah

Want to recreate Pantene Brand Ambassador Queen Latifah’s GRAMMY Award’s coiffure?  Iasia Merriweather, her “hair-person-in-charge” shares how:

 

 

Glamming-up Queen Latifah’s fresh, new bob for the GRAMMY Awards began, as always, with a gentle shampoo followed by a moisturizing conditioner- “my GRAMMY winners, Pantene Pro-V’s Smooth and Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner – both must-haves along with frequent maintenance and deep conditioning to maintain hair’s moisture, elasticity, and promote growth.  With the Queen’s hair prepped and primed, GRAMMY make up and wardrobe choices reviewed, I set out to create what I called the ‘GRAMMY Glam-Bob!’ The result: a FLAWLESS, yet minimalistic, bob with a hint of shape-defining volume to highlight layers and add direction!”

 

 GET THE LOOK

1.       Prep dampen hair for blow-drying by applying Pantene Pro-V Smooth Blow-dry Crème.  Once hair is dry, apply Pantene Pro-V Smooth with Argan Oil Shine Serum and begin working from back to front, in sections, flat ironing hair straight. Once hair is straight, side part and brush to smooth.

2.       Starting at the crown of the head and working in sections, position flat iron at the base of each section and move flat iron in a semicircular or curved motion to create large loose bends in hair. Work from top to bottom and repeat process for each side of part.

 

3.       Gently hand comb loose curls then brush to smooth being mindful of maintaining volume and defining shape. Finish with Pantene Pro-V Stylers Anti-Humidity Maximum Hold Hairspray for a wow-worthy GLAM SLAM!
