Vending Machine Beauty: Is Nail Art a Lost Art?

Will nail technicians of the world have to unite against the machine?  In Japan, vending machine nail art, in theory, can give you that little oomph to your plain manicure.

Step 1: Size your nails (Two can be designed at a time for just over $3usd)

Step 2: Add money, insert finger

Step 3: Machine stamped artwork

Step 4: Cleanup, Sealant, Tell all of your girlfriends!

There is a decent array of designs for automation:

A sigh of relief – a nail tech is still needed to pre-check hands and finalize treatment.  You may get a botched job or two as well, which isn’t handled by robots.  If it was any smaller I’d take one for my station.

Back in the US,  Sephora has taken a lead from the Japanese and launched vending machine beauty. Gone are the days of the kiosk – a few coins and you too can replace that fav fragrance or lippy that security tossed in the name of, well, security.
