Nautica : Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ss 2012 NY

Fabulous color, except where there were no shirts. That was fabulous too.

Nautica held their private presentation for SS 2012 Fashion Week on the double deck rooftop of the fabulous Empire Hotel.

Who needed surf with the sun, spins from a DJ, spring fashions and drinks flowing?  Perfect day for Nautica.

Love the denim boat shoes and bermuda shorts

A touch of pink looks good with denim blue (a hot trend for Spring)

I’m originally a California girl and these jackets take me right back to that lifestyle feel.  Jackets are lightweight, weatherproof, look good.  LOVE.  The murse I imagine gets passed off to the girlfriend.

Ladies go crazy for a sharp dressed man

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Begins s/s 2012 Coverage 9/8/2011

Lincoln Center gets a facelift with a sexy new facade

It’s that time again!  This year marks the one year anniversary that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week moved from Bryant Park to Lincoln Center, as well as the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.  Many changes are underfoot as IMG continues to shape and mold the new space, the latest being a brilliant new face that will add a little pizazz to the more formal architecture of the existing structure, as well as allow for “flexibility…over the next couple of seasons to explore digital integration and other technology driven enhancements,” said Peter Levy, SVP Managing Director, IMG Fashion Worldwide.

There is a huge digital board inside that projects previous runways throughout the week and it is a bit of a thrill to relive a show, or catch a glimpse of one you weren’t privy to be in attendance.  I’m getting chills thinking of that happening in some form outside for the world to see.

Aside from a gratefully long list of shows to cover, both front and backstage, this season I’m also going to be working an event with CND (more on that later, but it does involve Shellac). Don’t forget to get your free mani’s on Fashion’s Night Out! (no, that isn’t it either)

You can check out some of my coverage from last year here and here and here and here and here.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will take over New York City as thousands of fashion insiders gather to see the newest collections of over 99 designers.
