Kate Middleton’s First Foray into Fashion Sells for $125k

Sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex. ~ Cher, Clueless

Sweet Kate Middleton, circa 2002.  It’s unclear if she was working this mantra for Prince William, who was sitting front row at the fashion show she was walking at St. Andrews where they were both attending.  Rumor has it she was dating someone else at the time, but this fiesty number caused the Prince to crane his neck and get a better look at the lovely.  Cher knows best!

A few days ago the student designer of this slip of a dress, Charlotte Todd, said she would never part with it – unless it was for an invitation to the wedding.  Turns out Cash is King as Todd put the dress up for auction where it sold for $125,871.

Todd, who has already experienced more success as a designer than most that try to pursue the profession, currently works at an aquarium.  She’ll no doubt enjoy her windfall, but I can’t help wondering why she didn’t wait until after the April 29th nuptials.  This piece is a unique bit of history to How I Met Your Princess.

Perfect Finish: VP Joe Biden Gets Pretty for the People

When People Magazine arrived at the salon today, I knew it would be a hot issue because not only is it People (the ONLY magazine our clients ever fight over), but I thought the Charlie Sheen cover might create a little excitement too.  Little did I realize that the big hoo-haa was just inside: an interview withVice-President Joe Biden, and two favorites had been featured.  Victoria Stiles (Makeup Artist) and Robyn Bloom (Purely Cosmetics) have both been interviewed for this site, and both played important roles.  Victoria was the makeup artist for the shoot, and she chose Purely Cosmetics to prep the Vice President for his photo shoot.  What works with his complexion?  Skin Smoothing Foundation in a blend of California Blonde and Neutral Medium, with a dusting of Diamond Perfect Finish.   I know talent and good product when I see it!  Follow the links to find out more.

CND Shellac Layering: Northshore Nude

After doing *every single CND Shellac today*, and most of this week, in Cocoa with Beau layered over, I have dubbed this combo #NorthshoreNude.   Cocoa on right is beautiful as is, but Beau over it adds a layer of (as one client put it) glamour.   What’s hot in your salon?

To book your CND Shellac manicure in Milwaukee,

Updated to show, I have two Northshore Nudes, depending on skin type:

Beau over Cocoa

Iced Coral over Cocoa:
