After creating a world-wide beauty frenzy May/June 2010 with Shellac, a hybrid polish gel that lasts two weeks without chipping, CND pulled the scheduled releases of their color launches just to accommodate initial orders. Selling out four times over initial projections, nail pros and salon goers alike could not get enough of the 3-free (no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP) perfect manicure with the incredible shine.
So it is with a bit of sadness that November would have been the launch date for a new round of colors – but it is okay to get excited because the next 12 colors have officially been announced! Here in all of their glory:
Mother of Pearl, Beau, Clearly Pink, Iced Coral, Cocoa, Gotcha, Hot Pop Pink, Hollywood, Decadence, Masquerade, Rock Royalty, Black Pool
What do you think of the new lineup? I know, it is a little hard to tell, but you get a general idea. I’m glad they have a straight black but I wish there was a grey or greige this round.
CND was rumored to be working toward nearly 100 releases by next fall.
New Packaging
CND has also started shipping the existing collection in new packaging. To distinguish Shellac’s unique formula from regular polish, the product was originally encased in hard, oval plastic tubes with a black base. It was probably very expensive but not very effective.
All of that has changed with the new boxes that began shipping last month. The packaging is actually more attractive, easier to ship, uses much less plastic and displays/stores better. Total win for everyone.
From oval to rectangle
Minimal plastic still keeps item secure
Slight changes in bottles too – I’m going to miss the more tactile feel on the original top, but new one very easy to manuver
