My Life In Pictures: 10 year Anniversary

antiguakiss_web The 8th celebrates 10 years of marriage for me and my long-suffering husband.  I can’t believe how fast it has gone by, and feel so blessed with our son.

Sorry, we aren’t supermodels!  I wanted to share this photo from that day.  With the turn of the century, gray was starting to come back into force (and remains strong 10 years later) and I wanted something different.  I was able to find some beautiful hand painted French silk  for the fishtail train and then hand sewn in crystal centers. It made for a lovely evening gown afterward.  Shockingly, I was able to find  matching shoes (which I am not wearing in the sand).

Did you design your own dress? I’d love to see your photos.  It was wonderful and a tear free-for-all at the same time.

My favorite detail about this photo is the cloud in the upper right.  I often ponder whether God was giving us the sign things would be A-Ok, or jokingly forming rabbit fingers.

Go out and love someone this weekend!

  1. I’d come to engage with you here. Which is not something I typically do! I love reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!

  2. wheres your rss feed? probably hidden in plain sight knowing me lol

  3. This is such a charming photo and you both look fabulous. The shade of your dress is simply stunning! I am in awe of you and your beauty! I have been married for 18 years. We got engaged after 6 months of dating and got married 6 months later. I am a true believer that when you know, you know. Certainly we have our ups and downs, just like any relationship ~ but I am so thankful that my husband is in my life and loves me for who I am. Thank you for sharing this photo; it’s awesome.

  4. Oh I’m always late to the party! Happy Anniversary! That is an awesome photo and your dress looks like it was simply amazing!

  5. I love your gray dress! Mine was royal blue and I designed it. Yup. I’ll have to bust out some photos & scan them.

  6. Thanks Sandi. I think we all probably have things about our gowns that we don’t think are perfect, but you are right – it is the man that counts!

  7. It sure is 🙂

  8. Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! I had my dress made and it didn’t turn out the way I wanted. It was a rush with only six weeks to get it made, so I didn’t make a fuss. I made the mistake of telling my husband and it kills him that I didn’t love my dress. As far as I’m concerned I got the man of my dress so not much else mattered.

  9. What a LOVELY picture. Love is THE thing, you know. 🙂
