Male Pedicure featuring Manglaze Fuggen Ugly
I know there are an abundance of posts here on Manglaze, but it just seems like too much information to put into one post. It all unintentionally coincided. Read here on Chicago’s Manglaze being used during Paris Fashion Week, and see a video of the show that Rihanna attended.
Now onto my news: I’m currently studying as a nail technician.
Why?
Several reasons. But years ago I heard comedienne Sandra Bernhard say she had supported herself in NYC as a nail tech. She loved it, thinking of it more as a position for an artist, with each nail surface being a tiny canvas to work on. I loved that imagery, and it resonated with me. I have always worked on nails, hair, makeup for friends. When traveling in South Africa on some very bumpy roads, I was the go-to girl for manicures because I had a steady hand under those dire conditions. I’ve always thought about going to cosmetology school, and after years of working corporate I’ve finally started. As a creative person, I can’t tell you how much fun it is to go to school and really have fun! As we’re learning, we are also getting all variations of manicures, pedicures, massage, paraffin treatments. When customers come in I find I naturally share tips I’ve learned over the years on preventing overgrown cuticles, making your manicures last longer, how to treat splitting nails.
And oh, the polish and art. At one point I had over 300+ polishes that lined my medicine cabinets, overflowing into my towel cabinet and hall closet. It was incredible to open it to see all of the dazzling colors, but I threw them all out before moving to the Midwest. I thought the dream job was being able to give nail polish crazy names and wanted to find out how to get into one of those OPI focus groups! I had no idea that there were so many people in this world that could put their love and creativity into a career in the beauty industry, and I think it will only enhance what I talk about here on the site.
Right off the bat I’ve been able to channel information and experiences with different products, and ManGlaze’s matte nail polish is one item. It’s no secret I love this long wearing matte, and as I had a male pedicure scheduled, I used Fuggen Ugly on the toes. Behold:
The polish has been the talk for days, and he’s coming back to try Manglaze’s Death Tar (black). He’s planning on picking up his own bottles and can’t stop talking about the stuff.
For women, I love this brand because if you add a shiny coat over, the incredible amount of micas sparkle through. It’s a stunner.
Give it a try at www.manglaze.com
I love the stuff. The mica in both Death Tar and Fuggin Ugly is incredible and the stuff goes on like butter – better than any other polish I have tried.
And yeah, the fact that it’s advertised for guys is pretty cool too. About time someone recognized the fact that some guys like to wear polish too.
And not just gay guys either!!!
Thats cool. I agree, that was a good post!
